Hi All

I just joined the forum today.

Hoping to seek some opinion of others here about a future purchase on a van.

Do you think this is an ideal van for home renovation equipment for a daily?

I thought about the pick up truck, but I need larger than that.

Please suggest or recommend any other vans too.

Thanks!

For home renovation it will be perfect, you can even haul a trailer which is perfect for the sort of things you won't want to keep inside, like hauling away the stuff you remove from renovations.

What exact needs do you have?

Thanks @keys !

Ideally, I want it to fit all my equipment, such as the tools and machinery, ladder, and the materials (depending on what the renovation is on). As I hate making several trips back and forth in my truck, due to the lack of storage space.

Great idea on the haul of the trailer, I didn't even think about that.

I just want less in terms of carriage (like the trailer).

I think in my ideal world, I just want a van that fits everything.. I guess that's too realistic.

As that would mean I cram everything in the van and it ends up being messy and I can't access certain tools.

Just want to have a bit of space to access into the van to grab what I need too, not take it all out at the same time.

Ah, I know what you mean. We have landscaping company and just about everything fits in the Savana except for obvious things like riding lawn mowers, aerators, etc. Most lawn and smaller property maintenance tools can be hauled inside.

Have you looked into a shelving system for the equipment? Being renovation I can imagine the mass number of tools and machines you guys use.

Yea, I've thought about shelvings too. I was riding in one of those medic non-emergency van and saw the neat cabinets (cleared glass) and the different sections of drawers and shelvings. I'll probably take that idea and put it into my van too. So it's more organized. As my son will be working with me, so it'll be good if he knows which tool is where. Ideally, shelvings with labels for him and easier access and more organize for both of us. Leaves a good impression on home owners, not just your typical messy van home reno guy. lol

Something like this:

Nice, always good to keep it organized and tidy, makes it much easier to find what you need and when you need it as sockets, screw drivers, screw driver bits, etc can go missing easily in a messy environment.

Have you started looking into where you will get shelving from and the specific types of shelves and configurations you'll require? What have you used previously?
